R.E.M.'s "Revolution" Set For Batman and Robin Soundtrack

Joining the Pumpkins on upcoming album.

The soundtrack to the Batman and Robin summer movie event,

Music From and Inspired By The Batman and Robin Motion Picture (June 10)

is slated to feature previously unreleased material from a number of rock

megastars.

The lead-off track is the Smashing Pumpkins' new song "The End

it the Beginning is the End," accompanied by their confusingly-similar sounding

second track, "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning."

ATN has also

learned that a rare R.E.M. track, "Revolution," which was in the band's live

repertoire during the Monster tour, but was left off of their last two

albums, will show up alongside new songs from Soul Coughing ("The Bug"), Eric

Benet ("True to Myself"), Elliot Goldenthal ("Batman Overture"), R. Kelly

("Gotham City"), and Underworld ("Moaner"), which was slated to feature a cameo

vocal from R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe that was subsequently dropped.

Also

appearing on the movie tie-in are Jewel, with a re-recorded version of "Foolish

Games," Moloko ("Fun for Me"), Arkarna ("House on Fire"), Me'Shell

Ndegeocello's remake of the Coasters' 1959 hit "Poison Ivy," Bone

Thugs-N-Harmony ("Look Into My Eyes"), the first single from their upcoming

double album, The Art of War and new a track from the Goo Goo Dolls

("Lazy Eye") and Lauren Christy ("Breed").
