As they say in New Jersey, it ain't over until the fat lady hands
you your Ozzfest tickets--and it appears that she will beginning this Saturday
(May 17) at 9 a.m. The box office at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford reports
that tickets for the June 15 Ozzfest featuring Marilyn Manson are slated to go
on sale Saturday morning. Admission is $40.
The New Jersey Sports &
Exposition Authority, which last month attempted to halt ticket sales if Manson
was on the bill, was restrained last week by a federal judge's order from
prohibiting the concert, interfering with ticket sales, and breaching its
contract to hold the event.
Sports Authority spokesman John Samerjan told
ATN yesterday evening that he could not say when tickets would go on sale. He
also would not comment on whether the Authority would appeal the judge's
decision, saying only that, "We're still in discussions."
At press time
this morning, TicketMaster outlets in northern New Jersey still listed no
information for Ozzfest. The event also remains unlisted on TicketMaster's web
site for Giants Stadium.
In other Manson news, it appeared that after last
Wednesday's court victory the controversy that has dogged the group's tour
might begin to wane. Calamity struck the band's road crew two days later,
however, when Sean McGrann fell 90 feet to his death at the Washington, D.C.
Armory. McGrann, a member of the Upstaging, Inc. lighting team, reportedly had
been drinking with other crew members early Friday morning before he fell. The
team had been rappelling from a wall inside the Armory before McGrann's
co-workers decided to leave the building. He was alone at the time of his
