The line-up for the Iggy and the Stooges tribute we first told you
about in February, slated to feature an impressive array of rockers paying
homage to the godfather of punk, has undergone a bit of shuffling.
Royalty Records album, whose working title is We Will Fall: A Tribute to
Iggy Pop is now slated for a September release and is still expected to
feature everyone from Iggy disciples like the Misfits and Joan Jett to
contemporaries Joey Ramone and Jayne/Wayne County.
The project is a
benefit for the Music Industry Fights AIDS charity, LifeBeat, to whom Pop will
be donating his mechanical royalties and the label will donate a "significant
portion" of net proceeds according to a source at Royalty. In addition, all the
artists are being asked to donate their royalties to LifeBeat as well.
CD booklet will feature many rare photos of Iggy and the Stooges by legendary
rock photographers Mick Rock, Bob Gruen, Roberta Bayley and Larry
