Pavement is offering fans more than a half dozen additional songs

with its first two singles from their recent Brighten The Corners album.

The CD EP for "Stereo," which is available in the U.S. only as a British

import, contains three extra tracks: "Westie Can Run," "Winner of the...," and

"Birds of the Majik Industry."

The "Shady Lane" EP, which will be issued

in the U.S. on May 20, features five bonus cuts: "Cherry Area," "Slowly Typed,"

"Wanna Mess You Around," "No Tan Lines," and "Unseen Power of the Picket

Fence."

None of the extra tracks are available on any album, save for the

R.E.M. referencing "Unseen Power," which debuted on the 1993 benefit album

No Alternative. All of the other songs are by Pavement singer/guitarist

Stephen "S. M." Malkmus, except for "Winner Of The...," which was written by

Pavement guitarist/singer Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg.
