Michael Stipe To Read Kerouac Live

Michael Stipe is one of the artists who will read from the

writings of the late Beat Poet Jack Kerouac on Monday night at L. A.'s Viper

Room. The performance is part of a record release party celebrating the Kerouac

tribute album, kicks joy Darkness (out last week).

The event will

also feature actress Edie Adams, former Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band

member Moris Tepper, Van Dyke Parks, ATN columnist David Was, Devo leaders

Jerry Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh and possibly Rancid singer/ guitarist Tim

Armstrong and Auntie Christ leader (and ex-X singer) Exene Cervenkova.

It

will take place between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
