Porno for Pyros are set to join Dishwalla on April 18 for a

benefit concert on behalf of the Santa Barbara, California environmental

organization Community Environmental Council (C.E.C.).

The bands will

co-headline the show, for which Pornos (Peter Di Stefano, Perry Farrell and

Stephen Perkins) will perform a rare acoustic mini-set following an opening set

by recent Maverick Records signees, Summercamp. The 28-year-old C.E.C., an

environmental think tank and resource center whose agenda includes everything

from integrated waste management to exploring environmental technologies, is

close to the hearts of the boys in Dishwalla, since it is based in their

hometown of Santa Barbara.

"Santa Barbara is seen in many ways as the

birthplace of the environmental movement," said Dishwalla's J.R. Richards. "The

C.E.C. was on the forefront of this movement and the very first Earth Day was

established shortly after the 1969 oil spill on the coast of Santa Barbara. I

can remember growing up with pictures of the devastation, as bad if not worse

than the Valdez spill in Alaska. [But it was in] my hometown. Helping the

C.E.C. with this show on Earth Day weekend is a perfect circle for us."

Tickets for the show, which go on sale this Saturday (March 22) range in

price from $15-20, with all proceeds going to the C.E.C.
