U2 will play a benefit concert in Sarajevo,
Bosnia-Herzegovina as previously reported in ATN. The show, which will take
place on Sept. 23, will follow U.S. and European concerts. Proceeds from the
concert will go to reconstruction of a war-damaged medical center in a western
Sarajevo suburb, according to Reuters.
"The appalling things that
happened to this city over the past few years are known to us but perhaps not
as well known around the world as they should be," U2 manager Paul McGuinness
told reporters Wednesday (March 12). The concert will take place in Sarajevo's
largest stadium, Kosevo, which can seat 40,000.
