STP Take To The Arenas

Try it again, guys.

Stone Temple Pilots continue their steady climb back into the land of active

bands with a 29-date spring tour that will unofficially kick off this Saturday

(March 15) when they play alongside Aerosmith at this year's MTV Spring Break

The group played a string of 29 shows this winter following

singer Scott Weiland's successful stint in court-ordered rehab. It was a

glitch-free tour until Weiland disappeared and a few shows had to be canceled.

Now STP plans to hit the road again following Weiland's second,

self-imposed, stretch in a rehab facility in January. Manager Steve Stewart

told ATN the band will do six weeks of touring, take a week off and then

possibly hit the road again for six more weeks.

Stewart also said that the

unnamed side project initiated by the other three members of STP (Dean DeLeo,

Eric Kretz and Robert DeLeo) along with Ten Inch Men singer Dave Coutts when

Weiland was in rehab, is still being worked on and is slated to be mixed within

a month, although no release date has been set.
