If you've done the chocolate, candies and roses thing to death, that old softy
Joey Ramone has an idea to liven up your Valentine's Day. How about heading
down to picturesque Coney Island High in New York City and joining the tallest
ex-Ramone in an all-star Cupid Day celebration benefiting the AIDS charity
God's Love We Deliver?
The 4th annual benefit, for the organization that's
been delivering hot food to home-bound people for over a decade, will feature
Joey with a new line-up of his band the Resistance (including long-time
producer Daniel Rey on guitar, Andy Shernoff and "Handsome" Dick Manitoba
(Dictators), Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs) and New York scenester Al Maddy).
Also performing will be Ronnie Spector (with Rey, Joey Ramone, Roger
Murdoch (King Missle) and Jeremy Chatzky) doing a few of the songs she's been
working on with Ramone and Rey, the Independents, Black Flamingo, Times Square
(ex-members of the Misfits), the Sisters Grimm, Coyote Shivers, the Invaders
and your host/ess, Miss Understood. And if you're alone, it beats cramming
bon-bons into your fat, depressed head and watching Pretty Woman.
