Galaxie 500 Live From Copenhagen

Cool stuff from the late Galaxie 500.

As if Rykodisc’s four-CD box set wasn’t enough, the Galaxie 500 train
keeps a rollin’. Next up (April 29) is a live album from the band’s last gig of
their last European tour, recorded on December 1, 1990 at the Barbue in
Copenhagen.

The nine-track CD was recorded by Danish National Radio with a
24-track mobile studio, who intended to air the material on a radio special,
but only ended up using a few of the tracks. Along with 500 staples like
“Summertime,” “Fourth of July,” “Sorry,” “Spook” and “When Will You Come Home,”
the set features three covers: Yoko Ono’s “Listen, The Snow Is Falling,” the
Velvet Underground’s “Here She Comes Now” and Jonathan Richman’s “Don’t Let Our
Youth Go To Waste.”
