Have Yourself A Punk Rock Christmas

Cover art from Punk-O-Rama CD.

Need to score a last minute, low-cost stocking stuffer for the

punk rocker on your list? Epitaph Records recently released the second volume

of its Punk-O-Rama compilation series, and the CD lists for a mere four

bucks.

Punk-O-Rama features 17 cuts from as many bands. Prize

tracks for collectors include an unreleased song called "Thought Control" by

the wiseacres in D.F.L. and a rare cover of Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die

Young" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, featuring members of NOFX, Lagwagon,

and No Use For A Name. The disc also contains a sneak preview of the Humpers'

"Mutate with Me" from the Plastique Valentine album due out in February.

The bulk of Punk-O-Rama is taken from Epitaph's releases of the

past year, including contributions from the Descendents, New Bomb Turks,

Pulley, SNFU, the Joykiller, and Down By Law. The collection is rounded out by

older Epitaph material from Pennywise, Rancid, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Millencolin,

and Bad Religion, along with songs that Epitaph recently reissued by T.S.O.L.

and Poison Idea. Quite a bit for four clams, we'd say.
