Ex-Stone Roses Guitarist Names New Band

Squire and former bandmates.

Working on the same creeping time table that he originated in the Stone Roses,

ex-Rose John Squire has at last announced the name of his new band. They're

called the Seahorses and, if he keeps this schedule, their debut should come

out sometime around, oh, let's say 1998. Just kidding, Squire and his new

partners are headed into the studio in November to record their debut, with

their sights set on a fall 1997 release. All well and good, since Squire

snagged Chris Helme to handle vocals and Stuart Fletcher to take on bass

duties, but, since the drum stool is still vacant, we get that nagging feeling

that it's too early to start holding your breath.
