Pumpkins video update: So far, no one has turned in the

missing beta videos for the Smashing Pumpkin's single "1979." The videos were

lost then they were mistakenly left on top of a van by a crew member and lost

when the can drove off. Virgin Records, the label the Pumpkins record for,

offered a $1000 reward for their return--but no one has claimed it. Perhaps if

they had offered more...They band will now have to schedule time to reshoot the

video which they originally shot in San Carita, California. But they won't be

doing it anytime soon. As we speak, Billy Corgan and company are en route to a

festival in Brazil. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the band told us that "there

is absolutely no truth to the rumor that the band will break up after their U.

S. tour, or even pursue separate projects." So

there.
