Black Crowes Back In The Studio

Breakin' in the new material.

Late last summer ATN got a tip that Black Crowe's frontman

Chris Robinson was going to undertake a solo project with some of his roots

buddies, and curtail his involvement in the Black Crowes for a while, but when

we checked in with the band yesterday we found out that Robinson has had a

number of conversations with his real-life brother and band mate Rich and

decided to recommit himself to the Black Crowes, and shelve the solo project

for the time being. Putting his money where his mouth us, Robinson et. al have

been writing songs, and are currently in an Atlanta studio with producer Jack

Joseph Puig, working on the follow-up to their million selling amorica,

with an eye to a fall release. What do you mean, tell them to hurry up? They

recently tried out some of the new material at Atlanta's Cotton Club performing

under the nom de gig of Thunderbold Grease Slapper, donating the proceeds from

the $10.00 ticket price to Meal on Wheels. Just in case you weren't in Atlanta

at that particular point in time, the band filmed the impromptu concert and

will be showing excerpts of it on their web site on January 15. Click on for a

good time.
