They're still at it in Europe, doing their Voodoo Lounge thing this
summer, but according to the L.A. Times the Stones are talking
about a U.S. 15,000 seat arena tour--their first since the mid-'70s.
This tour, which could happen as soon as February '96, would follow
the release of an acoustic (don't they call that "unplugged" these
days?) album recorded during the group's Amsterdam shows. All of this
is totally unofficial news, but U. S. promoters like Avalon
Attractions Brian Murphy are excited about the prospect. "If the
Rolling Stones comes back and play arenas in the round.... [it would]
give a specialness to the shows that was lacking in the outdoor ones,"
Murphy told the Times.
