Basketball Jones: Seattle's Rock Royalty Come Out For The Sonics

Yep, some of the Chain Gang were there too. Photo by Jay Blakesberg.

Seattle is really a very small town, when you think of it.

Last week the music community joined their basketball team, the Seattle Sonics

to kick off the team's All Star balloting campaign. Stone Gossard and Jeff

Ament of Pearl Jam, and Kim Thayil from Soundgarden, and the odd member of the

quirky Presidents of the United States, and the even odder Alice In Chain's

member joined the team in center court before a recent Sonics Bulls games, to

help the team get out the vote, to send their home team to the NBA All Stars

game. The Presidents Of The United States really know how to run a campaign, as

you might imagine. They've recorded "Go, Sonics," which they'll release next

month.
