Star Producer Brad Wood Produces New Noise Addict Album

Ben Lee is a key member of Noise Addict.

Coming on New Year's day is the latest from Noise Addict,

produced by Chicago-based producer Brad Wood. As you know Wood is the genius

responsible for such bands like Liz Phair, and Veruca Salt, and produced the

solo record that Noise Addict vocalist Ben Lee put out earlier this year titled

Grandpaw Wouldwhich is a homonym tip to Brad. Noise

Addict seem

to be the biggest competition that Silverchair has in the underage Aussie

sweepstakes. The band hails from Sydney, Australia, and were discovered three

years ago, at the tender age of 14 playing at a library book sale in their

hometown. Since then they attracted the attention of Mike D of the Beastie

Boys, and Rebecca Gates of the Spinanes, and most importantly Stephen Pavolich

from Sydney's Fellaheen Records who put them on the bill supporting Fugazi--and

they haven't looked back. Thurston Moore put out the band's demos on his

Ecstatic Peace label, after they opened up for Sonic Youth, and charmed the

elder statesmen and woman. The young band is coming to our shores to introduce

themselves to the U. S. audience, and promote their upcoming album Meet The

Real You, also produced by Grandpaw Wood and due our Jan. 1.
