Plans for a six-week tour by the Stone Temple Pilots were
announced yesterday. The tour will kick off in Los Angeles on November 4 at the
Universal Amphitheatre. Also confirmed are shows on Nov. 7 at the Arizona
Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, Nov. 8 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, Nov. 9
at the San Jose Arena in San Jose , Nov. 11 at the Key Arena in Seattle and
Nov. 16 at the Starplex Amphitheatre in Dallas. The group expects the tour to
take them to 30 U. S. cities including Pittsburgh, Houston, Miami, New York,
Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington DC. The group's third
album, Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Show, was released
earlier this year. They were expected to play dates with Kiss, but singer Scott
Weiland's drug problems forced them to cancel the Kiss dates and put all
touring plans on hold. Weiland has been in rehab; he has completed the program.
In a statement, the band thanked their fans for "your support and positive
wishes through the difficult time we've had."
