As "Who You Are," the first single off their upcoming

album, reached radio yesterday, Pearl Jam announced a nine week, 31-date

world

tour beginning on September 16 in Seattle, and finds the band lighting

down

in 29 cities including Dublin, London, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Budapest, Istanbul,

Barcelona and Lisbon. Only the cities and dates, but not the venues, have

been announced thus far.

The group's new album, No Code, will be released on August 27. "Who You

Are," with its unorthodox, exotic East Indian flavor, is characteristic of an

album that finds the band challenging itself at every turn. From the careening

noisy rock of "Hail, Hail" to the low-key Springsteen-influenced ballad, "Off

He Goes," the album is anything but typical Pearl Jam fare. The group are

set to

play 11 shows in America including two in New York, and one each in Seattle;

Toledo, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; Augusta, Maine; Buffalo, New York; Hartford,

Connecticut; Charlotte, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina and

Miami.
