Jethro Tull: Too Old To Rock?

We, of course, always though Jethro Tull should just pack

it in. But while we were pogoing to the Stooges and the MC5, the New York Dolls

and the Ramones, Black Flag and Husker Du, millions were taken in by the

art-rock hodge-podge sound of the UK's Jethro Tull. Oh well. Now we learn that

old man Ian Anderson, 48, has had to cut short his latest tour of Australia and

New Zealand. Anderson had--get this--been performing in a wheelchair after

tearing a ligament during a South American tour in March. After surgery, he hit

the road again. We believe he is the first rock star to actually perform night

after night in a wheelchair. Anyway--and this isn't funny--Anderson now has a

serious thrombosis condition. We figure he can always retire and oversee his

fish farming biz. Actually, maybe god is telling him something.
