Eek A Mouse Sneaks Out Of Jamaica

One of the almost causalities of the government shut-down

was Eek A Mouse, the obscenely tall, wickedly handsome, and amazingly talented

reggae star. Eek is due to play with his band at San Francisco's Slim's

tonight, but he could not get out of his native Jamaica, because he needed a

visa stamp--he has a visa that is good until May 30, 1996, he just needed the

exit stamp. The American Embassy in Jamaica is staffed by just ten people

during this budget crisis and not one of them was able to supply the necessary

stamp--that is until Rep. Barbara Boxer's office intervened. Hopefully as you

read this, Eek will be winging his way to San Francisco to join his band, who

had the foresight not to go back to Jamaica for the
