Steady B and Cool C Charged With Murdering Policewoman

Rappers Steady B and Cool C, who once made an album called

Countin' Endless Bank, were charged Friday with murdering a Philadelphia

policewoman during a bungled band robbery that took place this past Tuesday,

according to the Associated Press. Steady B (real name Warren McGlone)

and Cool C (Christopher Roney), both age 26, are childhood friends who first

rapped with Fresh Prince when the three of them were students at Overbrook High

in Philadelphia. The murder occurred when officer Lauretha Vaird, age 42 and a

mother of two, responded to a silent alarm that had been triggered by an

employee at a PNC Bank branch in Northeast Philadelphia. She was gunned down

when she entered the bank. Police say Steady B drove the getaway car while Cool

C and a third man, Mark Canty, 22, are alleged by police to have ambushed

Vaird.
