Sweet Relief #2 In The Works

We hear that R.E.M., Counting Crows, Live, Cracker, Madonna and Bob Mould

(who duets with Kristin Hersh) are contributing tracks to Sweet Relief

ll, a collection of songs written by Vic Chestnut, an Athens, GA

singer-songwriter confined to a wheelchair because of a car accident. As you

might recall, the first Sweet Relief album , released in 1993,

consisted of lots of cool bands covering Victoria Williams' songs; the money

raised helped Williams pay her multiple sclerosis treatment bills. The

L.A. Times reports that Williams' manager, Danny Heaps, said that the

Sweet Relief foundation has given more than $300,000 to musicians in need

during the past year. No release date yet for the upcoming benefit album.
