Today is the birthday of Jeremy Spencer, the only mildly interesting member
of Fleetwood Mac. Spencer, who played slide guitar, and sang for the band was
born on this day in 1948. At the height of the band's success, during a
February 1971 tour of the US, he disappeared and was later found to have
become one of the Children of God in Los Angeles. Little has been heard of
him since. He made one solo album consisting of rock and roll oldies,
faithfully, but not imaginatively reproduced. It is also the birthday of John
Waite (The Babys), Kirk Pengilly (INXS), and the late, great Louis Armstrong.
