Garth Brooks Live Sets Record

A live album from country-superstar Garth Brooks, Double Live, set a

one-day sales record Tuesday by moving 500,000 copies, according to Variety

magazine. The 25-track CD set the record on a day dubbed "Super Tuesday" due to the

large volume of high-profile releases by such artists as Wu-Tang Clan-rapper

Method Man and pop singers Jewel, Mariah Carey and

Seal. Brooks' heavily promoted album is on track to beat the all-time one-week

sales record established by grunge-rockers Pearl Jam's 1993 album Vs,

which held the SoundScan-era record with 953,000 in sales during its first week,

Variety reported.
