KRS-One Hired As A&R VP For Reprise

Hip-hop hero KRS-One (born Lawrence "Kris" Parker) has signed on as a vice president of A&R at Reprise Records, a publicist for the record company confirmed Thursday. The rapper, whose Maximum Strike is due in March, has been on the job now for two weeks and reports to David Kahne, senior vice president of A&R. He is expected to shore up the label's rap roster but is free to pursue artists from any genre.
