British former punk-singer Feargal Sharkey has landed a job with the
government, according to Britain's Press Association. The one-time
Undertones frontman and current solo artist accepted an appointment by
Culture Secretary Chris Smith to sit on the board of the Radio Authority, which oversees
independent radio. Questioned about improvements he'd make, Sharkey was quoted as
saying, "Play lots and lots more of my records -- that's very important."
