Cracker And Crow Tribute To Parsons

Cracker leader David Lowery and Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz will front an impromptu supergroup on Saturday night at the third annual tribute to late singer/songwriter Gram Parsons -- Byrds member and founder of the Flying Burrito Brothers -- in Pioneertown, a desert site two hours outside of Los Angeles. As part of a week-long music celebration entitled "The Cosmic American Music Festival," a dozen other acts, including Sleepless Knights and Rosie Flores, will salute the country-rock innovator and his legacy on the 25th anniversary of his death. "We're all going to caravan out to the desert this weekend, drink tequila and play Gram Parsons songs," Duritz said.
