McCartney Plans Animal-Rights Concerts

Former Beatles bassist Paul McCartney and Pretenders

frontwoman Chrissie Hynde are organizing a series of concerts to

promote awareness of animal rights, the Associated Press reported

Thursday (Sept. 17). According to the report, McCartney and Hynde are

talking with such artists as Elvis Costello, the B-52's,

The Artist, Blur, Lenny Kravitz and Natalie

Imbruglia about participating. McCartney's wife, Linda

McCartney, who died of cancer in April, was a well-known animal-rights

advocate.
