World-renowned turntablist DJ Q-Bert (born Rich Quitevis), the
founder of San Francisco's DJ supergroup the Invisibl Skratch Piklz,
performed a half-hour solo set at Honolulu's all-ages club the Source on
Friday. The event, dubbed the B-Side Tour, was sponsored by Double-O-Spot
Productions, the brainchild of Chicago DJ G-Spot (born Greg
Dehnert), who recently relocated to the islands. Q-Bert mesmerized the
crowd with his lightning-fast cuts and scratches to seminal DJ fodder such
as Run-D.M.C.'s "Rock the Bells."
