Sublime Spin-Off Recording Debut LP

The Long Beach Dub All-Stars, who include surviving members of the ska-punk-reggae outfit Sublime, have begun recording their debut album for Skunk Records in Mendocino, Calif. With an eye toward a January 1999 release, the tentatively titled Burn Unit will feature such guest vocalists as HR, Barrington Levy, the Born Jamericans' Notch and Half Pint, with select tracks produced by longtime Sublime producer Miguel. The nine-piece Dub All-Stars, formed after the drug-related death of Sublime singer Brad Nowell, will resume recording later this month in New York City.
