San Francisco radio station Live 105 (105.3 FM) played the new singles from
Marilyn Manson ("Dope Show"), Hole ("Celebrity Skin"), Soul
Coughing ("Circles") and Depeche Mode ("Only When I Lose Myself") last
weekend, before any of the songs were due to debut on radio.
Representatives of all four bands confirmed that the songs were not supposed to be
serviced to radio stations for at least two more weeks, and, in the case of Soul Coughing,
not for another month.
The move came one week after WXRK (92.3 FM) in New York and its L.A. sister station,
alternative-radio trendsetter KROQ (106.7 FM), played the Hole and Manson songs,
resulting in cease-and-desist orders from the bands' respective labels.
