In drunken, celebratory states, the hardcore punk-poppers of Shudder to Think
played music from the soundtrack to the Jesse Peretz movie "First Love, Last Rites" on
Thursday night at the film's West Coast premiere party at Goldfingers in Hollywood, Calif.
The group, who wrote and performed all the songs for the movie using such guest
vocalists as the Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan, Liz Phair,
the Cardigans' Nina Persson and the late Jeff Buckley,
performed the numbers at the party on their own, with the exception of Wild
Colonials singer Angela McCluskey, who sat in on three songs.
Meanwhile, director Peretz (former bassist for the pop-rock band the
Lemonheads) and the film's stars, Natasha Gregson Wagner and Giovanni
Ribisi, danced in the forefront of the crowd.
