Paul McCartney pledged to continue fighting for animal rights in one of the first interviews the former Beatle has granted since the April death of his wife, according to an Associated Press report.
"Animal rights is too good of an idea for the next century to be suppressed," McCartney said in an interview with Animal Times, an animal-rights publication. "I think it's time we get nice."
The ex-Beatles bassist's wife, Linda McCartney, was a champion of animal rights and assisted with the establishment of Vegetarians International Voice for Animals. She also served as CEO of a vegetarian food line bearing the McCartney name.
