Early Beatle Compiles Anthology

One-time Beatles drummer Pete Best will release a 16-song album, The Pete Best Combo: Best, on Aug. 18.

It's a compilation of material by his post-Beatles band from the mid-'60s. Best drummed for the Beatles prior to the band's big success in England and the U.S.

The Merseybeat-style songs, such as "All Aboard," "I'll Try Anyway," "I Don't Know Why I Do" and "Don't Play with Me," were recorded by the Pete Best Combo in the years after Best was ousted from the Fab Four in favor of drummer Ringo Starr.
