Chesnutt Signs With Capricorn

The Salesman Of Bernadette, the new album by bittersweet singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt, will be released this fall by Atlanta-based Capricorn Records, according to label spokesperson Paula Donner.

Earlier this year, Chesnutt was dropped by Capitol Records after completing just one album -- 1996's critically acclaimed About To Choke -- of a two-album deal.

The songwriter, himself a Georgia native, is no stranger to Capricorn, having recorded 1995's Nine High A Pallet for the company under the name Brute with members of the band Widespread Panic.
