Iconoclastic rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard has had a Virginia court date to answer
shoplifting charges moved to Aug. 11, according to his lawyer, Peter Frankel.
The hearing -- during which the Wu-Tang Clan member will face charges of
stealing a pair of $50 Nike shoes on July 4 -- was originally slated for July 28. When
ODB (a.k.a. Russell Jones) failed to appear for the hearing because of a
conflicting concert date, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
A clerk for the General District Criminal Court in Virginia Beach said Tuesday (Aug. 4)
that the warrant was still on file, signaling that it had not been annulled, though it may be
on hold until after the new hearing date.
