Sinéad Signs To Atlantic Records
Irish songstress Sinéad O'Connor has signed a three-album
deal with Atlantic Records, which will release a new LP by the singer in 1999.
The label will also re-release O'Connor's 1997 Gospel Oak. The EP was
previously issued on Chrysalis/EMI shortly before the label folded and then re-released by Columbia Records in mid-1997. O'Connor, who recently performed
a string of dates on the folksie Guinness Fleadh tour and the all-women Lilith
Fair, will be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming big-screen version of
"The Avengers," on the song "Summer's End," on which she will be backed up
by Chicago space-rock band Ashtar Command.
