Ex-Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic appeared at a Senate hearing Tuesday (June 16) in Washington, D.C., to discuss the use of parental-warning stickers on CDs and tapes. The hearing was convened to determine whether the current stickering system -- which relies on record companies to evaluate which of their albums require warning stickers -- is adequate to alert parents about the presence of lyrics with vulgar language, violent imagery and/or sexual content. Novoselic was the only person who spoke to the committee on behalf of musicians and the music industry.
