Krist Novoselic To Moderate Spoken-Word Tour
Former Nirvana bassman Krist Novoselic will serve as
moderator on Spitfire, a fall spoken-word tour featuring a rolling
bill of five musicians, actors and activists, according to Sarah Haynes,
spokeswoman with tour organizers On Board Entertainment. "Each artist will
have a minimum of 15 minutes to speak, and then we'll have a one-hour
question and answer session," Haynes said. "Then each speaker will break
out into small, 100-seat rooms for more intimate discussions." Although
neither a final lineup nor an itinerary are confirmed yet, Haynes said
Spitfire should make the rounds of 15 to 20 American college campuses.
Among the artists who've expressed interest in taking part are Public
Enemy leader Chuck D, Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha, X guitarist Exene Cervenkova, one-time Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra, Indigo Girl Amy Ray, Mighty Mighty Bosstones singer Dicky Barrett and former MTV VJ Kennedy.
