Camila posted an extensive statement on Twitter detailing her side of the story. Though the rest of 5H claimed that they were informed of Camila's departure “via her representatives,” Camila asserts that she had talked about wanting to pursue a solo career at length with the group beforehand.
“I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing,” Camila's statement reads. “The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true.”
Though her wording is somewhat ambiguous, it seems like Camila might not have meant to quit the group quite so soon. “I had also planned to continue with my own solo endeavors in the new year but I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way,” she wrote.
So who exactly told her representatives to tell the rest of the group she was quitting, if not Camila? Who broke up with whom? What is the truth?
We may never know, but at least we can rest assured that Camila has plans to cook up new solo music in 2017.
