Fifth Harmony’s Normani Flawlessly Covers Drake In This New Mash-up

Hear her smooth take on ‘Fake Love’ and ‘Sneakin’

Following her Torey Lanez cover from earlier this year, Normani Kordei has once again stepped away from Fifth Harmony to flex her solo goods.

This time, Normani takes on Drake’s most recent releases, “Fake Love” and “Sneakin,” for a slick, sexy mash-up cover. Her cooing background vocals give the track a soft R&B edge while she seamlessly fuses the “Sneakin” hook with the phony-blasting “Fake Love.” She even tackles a bit of 21 Savage’s verse, twisting a few of his lyrics around to accommodate her own swagger: “Was playing mall shows, but main stagin’ now,” she sings, followed by a very Beyoncé-esque “damn!”

Normani told MTV News about the Invaders-produced mash-up, “Drake has been one of the most influential artists in this generation who consistently releases dope material. I respect his artistry so much. He always resonates with me in some way so I decided to get creative and put my own spin on this mash-up of his most recent records for my fans to enjoy.”

Earlier this week, Fifth Harmony revealed they’re already working on their third album, the follow-up to this year’s 7/27. Even so, we’ve recently seen Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello branch out with their own solo projects, and, much like them, Normani shines just as brightly on her own.
