Big Sean turns his losses into rhymes in the psychedelic “Bounce Back” video, which packs one hell of a visual feast into four short minutes.
The Kid Studio–directed clip is washed in acid colors and features wolves, flames, babies, religious imagery, and a sea where the sky should be. It’s pretty random, and the juxtaposition of a dancer’s booty with a statue of Jesus doesn’t sound like it should work under any circumstances, but it somehow does here. Meanwhile, Sean Don appears on a rooftop and in the middle of a desert, rocking vibrant threads while spitting boastful bars about hushing his critics.
Shortly after the video premiered, Big Sean had this to say about bouncing back:
The Detroit rapper released “Bounce Back” and another new song, “No More Interviews,” back in October. He’s currently prepping the follow-up to 2015’s Dark Sky Paradise, and is reportedly working on another joint album with his Twenty88 collaborator (and real life girlfriend) Jhene Aiko. In other words, look out for a lot more from Sean in ’17.
