A man who once did the legendary House Party dance in a dive bar was featured on tonight's episode of Greatest Party Story Ever because -- get this -- he did it with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
The once-in-a-lifetime moment occurred when Patrick and his little brother -- both huge JGL fans -- went to a taping of the actor's HitRecord On TV. But when they discovered the event was sold out, the dejected twosome headed to a less-than-hoppin' bar and decided to liven the place up by hitting the dance floor.
Their plan worked: Before long, the brothers had formed a full-on dance circle and, well, you know what happened next.
"All of a sudden, the circle opens up like a king was coming through," Patrick recalled. "I look up and...time stood still for a second."
That's right: JGL himself had arrived at the bar -- and telepathically bonded with the dance-happy Patrick.
"In that moment, we connected," Pat said, "and that's when he was just like, 'House Party.'"
Next up: all the moves Kid 'n Play made famous way back in 1990, plus a full split by JGL and Patrick's version of The Worm.
Now that's our type of hype.
JGL then bought Patrick and his brother a round of drinks, but before they could even thank the actor, he had disappeared. And sure, not being able to even clink your glass with a Hollywood A-lister is a bummer, but Patrick learned a deep, valuable life lesson from the encounter.
"As quick as JGL comes in, he leaves," he reflected in earnest. "He's only there to deliver that happiness for a short period of time. After that, it's kind of up to you to live your life."
And you thought the Dalai Lama was deep.
