Sansa Stark Is On A ‘Power Trip’ In 'Game Of Thrones' Season 7

Will Jon Snow stand in her way?

If there’s one conflict that we’re most interested in seeing play out when Game of Thrones returns for Season 7, it’s the one currently brewing between Jon and Sansa in the North. It’s not that Sansa wanted to be Queen in the North, but rather, she just wanted a little credit for Jon’s win against that stupid fuckboy Ramsay Bolton. Sure, Jon fought for House Stark on the front lines, but it was Sansa who saved the day with the Knights of the Vale. (Let’s not forget that now that we know Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark, his dubious claim to Winterfell is even weaker.)

Still, being Ned Stark’s daughter, Sansa is the second-most powerful figure in Winterfell, and according to Sophie Turner, Sansa’s on a bit of a “power trip” in Season 7.

Sansa Stark

“She’s seemingly in control for the first time — and it really suits her,” Turner told EW of her character’s growing confidence. “She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds.”

It’s entirely possible that one of those threats could be Jon — especially if he continues to ignore her instincts — but there’s also Littlefinger, who has a history of playing mind games with Sansa. It’s pretty obvious that Littlefinger is only on his own side. A man of low birth, Littlefinger is thirsty for power, and he thinks a marriage to Sansa Stark is the way to acquire it. (Ugh.) But there’s no way Sansa will let this happen ... right?

Either way, Turner said that what excites her the most about Season 7 is that main characters are finally “coming together” for the first time and “it feels like things are ramping up.”

Do we seriously have to wait until summer 2017 for new episodes of Game of Thrones?! That’s just rude.
