Hillary Clinton And Katy Perry Are Still BFFs After The Election

They can’t stop giving thoughtful speeches about each other

Hillary Clinton took a break from hiking to present the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award, which honors charitable work for children in developing nations, to Katy Perry Tuesday night (November 29) at UNICEF's annual Snowflake Ball in New York.

“I cannot tell you how delighted I am to be here to help celebrate,” Clinton said after surprising the audience when she walked onstage to Perry's “Roar.” “I have seen Katy's commitment to the causes she believes in firsthand. I've gotten to spend time with her and I know how deeply she cares about making our world a better place.”

Perry's been a UNICEF ambassador for the past three years, and her Prismatic World Tour raised $1 million for the organization.

Then, it was Perry's turn: “I've always had a voice, a singing voice, but I've never had a voice like I've had before,” she said in a tearful acceptance speech, mentioning her field visits in Madagascar and Vietnam. “Hillary has lit that voice inside of me, and that light will never go out, it will continue to get brighter and brighter and brighter.”

Perry was a passionate Clinton supporter throughout the election. She dressed up as HRC for Halloween and even donned a cape emblazoned with the words “I'm with Madam President.”

“We need champions like Katy now more than ever: her passion, her energy and, yes, her voice, louder than a lion,” Clinton said at the end of her speech. Clearly she stans Katy just as hard as Katy stans her.
