The Chainsmokers And Halsey Were Best Friends Again For Their AMA Performance Of ‘Closer’

Time heals all feuds

The Chainsmokers and Halsey brought their inescapable hit "Closer" to the 2016 American Music Awards, and they even closed out their performance with a breakdown from a certain Blink-182 drummer.

Walking out in what might have been a Han Solo–inspired getup, Drew Taggart sang his first verse with some well-earned confidence now that he's a regular on awards show stages. He was joined by Halsey, who rocked a post-modern Princess Leia look (minus the hair buns).

Whatever dirt might have been stirred up between the two collaborators over their respective allegiances to Lady Gaga seemed to have dissolved on the AMA stage, even though Taggart noticeably kept his hands to himself during the performance. (He and Halsey did share a hug once they'd finished singing.)

They finished off the song with a percussive breakdown courtesy of Travis Barker, who rose out of the stage on a platform with his drum kit, banging away like no tomorrow.

As for the awards part of the AMAs, The Chainsmokers came away with Favorite EDM Artist, beating out Calvin Harris and Major Lazer.
