It’s been two days since Kendall Jenner unexpectedly deleted her Instagram account, but she’s already joking about feeling “withdrawals.” On The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday (November 16), Jenner explained to fans the reasons behind her “detox” from social media.
“I’m always on it,” Jenner told DeGeneres. “I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing I looked at. I felt a little too dependent on it.”
She assured everyone that her break, which also included deleting Twitter from her phone, is temporary and that she’ll return to her 68 million followers in “a minute.” Despite previously having the most-loved Insta photo — Selena Gomez stole the crown in May — Jenner finds her time away from the app “refreshing” and suggests that everyone try it.
“I’m away from my phone so much more [now],” she said. “You start to engage in real life. You have to deal with real people right in front of you.” Sometimes it’s nice to see the world up close and personal instead of through a filter, I suppose.
