John Legend Snuggles With Chrissy Teigen And Baby Luna In ‘Love Me Now’ Video

The moving vid also features diverse couples in Orlando, Iraq, and Standing Rock

John Legend shared his vision for love today (November 11), and it’s a much-needed reminder that love thrives amidst suffering.

The singer’s new “Love Me Now” video features diverse couples in communities that have been struck with tragedy and suffering: Orlando, Florida; Domix Refugee Camp in Northern Iraq; Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; and Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, where activists are fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline. In each place, the resiliency of love prevails, in spite of pain.

As if that wasn’t enough to make you smile, the video also features Legend crooning to his wife, Chrissy Teigen, and their six-month-old daughter Luna, who’s an absolute ball of sunshine.

On the heels of a divisive presidential election in the U.S., the “Love Me Now” video couldn’t have come at a better time. In an Instagram post from yesterday, Legend acknowledged the coincidental timing of the video and its message of universal love, writing, “We didn't think about the election when we planned the release date for this song and video. But in this time of conflict and uncertainty, it's clear that we all need more love.”

He added, “Love is universal. We all need it. We all can give it. And it will ultimately win over hate. I have to believe that.”

“Love Me Now” appears on Legend’s upcoming fifth album, Darkness and Light, out December 2.
