We've seen the record-breaking teaser trailer and the leaked images, but finally, we have our first official look at Emma Watson's Belle and Dan Stevens's Beast in Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast.
Entertainment Weekly's latest cover features Belle and Beast waltzing around the castle's opulent ballroom — Watson, in Belle's beloved yellow gown, and Stevens, all dressed up in the Beast's fancy blue tux. It's an iconic image ripped right from the animated classic. Honestly, it's spot-on. It looks like fans don't need to worry about Bill Condon's live-action Beauty and the Beast straying too far from the original.
EW also released some new images from the film, including our first official look at Lumiere and Cogsworth, Gaston and Le Fou, and a dreamy shot of Belle in her equally iconic blue and white dress. Here, Belle and Beast seem to be having an intense conversation in Beast's study:
Written by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Beauty and the Beast brings the classic fairy tale to life with new music from Disney alumnus Alan Menken and Sir Tim Rice. Watson and Stevens will be joined by Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, among the rest of the amazingly star-studded cast, which includes a delightful new character named Cadenza the grand piano, voiced by Stanley Tucci.
Beauty and the Beast waltzes into theaters March 17, 2017.
